Innovation within Relais & Châteaux
I invite you each day of this week to discover my interview with Philippe Gombert, President of the brand Relais & Châteaux, around the French art of welcoming and Relais & Châteaux.
What actions have you put in place these last few years in your hotels that have changed the quality of your clients’ stays? What are the major innovations that have distinguished Relais & Châteaux? Can you give us some examples?
These last few years, we’ve sought to offer our clients new destinations. We have therefore developed our network in Asia, in South America, and in Africa. We also wanted to be able to offer accommodations in downtown areas, so that our clients would be able to find establishments in major cities corresponding to our twofold criteria of excellence and experience. We have therefore established the presence of Relais & Châteaux in heart and soul in some of the largest cities around the world (Paris, London, New York, San Francisco, Tokyo, etc.).
We have also worked extensively to inspire dreams, to give rise to the desire to travel, largely with the help of digital tools. We are thus present across all tablet and smartphone models with nearly 18,000 pictures. Our website is now accessible in 7 different languages, including Brazilian-Portuguese and Russian. As for social networking, Relais & Châteaux engages with its followers on Facebook and Twitter but has sought to develop the emotional component using Pinterest and Instagram.
We have finally launched our new products:
• The Villas with exclusive offerings in 87 remarkable properties ranging from
classic villas to castles, all the way to private islands and even yachts.
• The Routes du Bonheur, authentic itinerary suggestions bringing together
various Relais & Châteaux properties within a region, guided along the
way by a Relais & Châteaux Ambassador
