‘Understated Luxury’

Interview with Josephine Leung, architect of GOCO Hospitality’s design

As both a consulting and operating wellness hospitality company, we offer a true turn-key solution which allows us to pay significant attention to every detail in the design process. Working closely with a carefully selected team of design experts, we accomplish high-quality standards that differentiate our spas and retreats, provide our guests with unique wellness experiences, and ultimately set new benchmarks in their respective locations.

All our branded projects feature warm colors and local, handpicked, largely natural materials, which enhances the property’s connection to its location and is aligned with our overall design direction of ‘understated luxury.’ In our projects, we bring this principle to life through the use of clean lines, accentuated by unique textures, demonstrating sophistication and elegance while providing personal spaces for our guests.

We don’t only use natural and locally sourced materials to highlight the beauty of the project’s surrounding and history, but also to create sustainable projects that have minimal impact on their environment and make a positive social impact on the community. GOCO Hospitality does this through using locally sourced building materials wherever possible and adhering to the standards in green technology and innovative design. Integrating the indoor and outdoor spaces also supports this as it always the treatment rooms to have an intimate scale while providing ample natural light.

What experiences do you propose to the spa customers ? What are the different values that you emphasize in your projects worldwide?  How do you embody the spirit of the spa brands?

Our GOCO Spas and GOCO Retreats provide luxurious, authentic and personalized spa experiences that offer results and are tailor-made to every guest. Staying up-to-date with trends is of greatest importance for GOCO Hospitality and we are aware of the needs of today’s high-net-worth individuals who are seeking effective, result-focused treatments, and not just a pampering experience. A recent study from Ernst and Young (2013) concluded that 40% of all US travellers are “health-conscious” and prioritize personal well-being while traveling. Our wellness concept is providing just that: they are tailored to each location, combining both traditional ancient healing modalities and western treatments, providing a wide range of offerings for our guests.

Each of our spas and wellness facilities are unique, from the overall look and feel of the architecture and interior through to its facilities and the spa treatment menus that have been specifically created for that location, thereby creating exceptional guest journeys.
