JW Marriott & Ritz Carlton
I recently came to learn about the Ritz-Carlton and the JW Marriott, where I spent the night in Beijing. These two hotels are located beside each other in the thriving commercial district of Chaoyang. It is an ideal location, whether you are traveling on business or for pleasure.
The Ritz-Carlton is a traditional and international luxury hotel where one can find 305 well-managed rooms and suites, a spa, three exceptional restaurants, a 1,100-square meter meeting room, and a ballroom of 650 square meters.
This hotel also features a wedding chapel in the very center of the building. It is a lovely setting for hosting Chinese weddings.
The JW Marriott hotel fits very much into the ‘business hotel’ genre, featuring a large complex of skyscraper-encased offices, stores, and residences. The reception spaces in particular are quite spectacular. The foyer is an immense one that provides access to various restaurants, the bar, and even the Ritz- Carlton. There is even a beautiful outdoor terrace where one can enjoy some very fine international cuisine. I myself enjoyed an excellent cocktail in a very friendly ambiance!
I also tried out the fitness center, the pool, and the spa. This is a very spacious environment, and the service is admirable and, most importantly, available 24/7, which is ideal when one has not yet gotten used to the time difference.
The room facilities reflect excellent state-of-the-art quality. The bathroom opens out into the room. There one can find a large bathtub, a ‘rainforest’ shower, toilets, a television, and high-quality soaps. The bedding, too, is remarkable, and I certainly enjoyed a pleasant night’s sleep. You can even watch films or connect your computer to the 42-inch flat-screen TV. The high-speed Internet connection functions perfectly. I was able to hold a conference call on Skype without any difficulty.
Ritz Carlton
As for events, meetings, workshops, and board meetings, this hotel offers 1,800 square meters of space as well as an efficient catering service.
The largest meeting room is the ballroom, with a maximum meeting space of 1,295 square meters; it is possible, therefore, to hold up to 1,100 people.
