Hotel in Mountain
A few months ago, I had the chance to visit the hotel Au Coeur du Village, located in La Clusaz. Allow me to take this opportunity to introduce you to this hotel.
Long recognized as a family destination, the resort town of La Clusaz has just welcomed a 5-star hotel in its midst, the first one to grace the town, brand-new and recently incorporated into the Relais & Châteaux family. Its name is Au Coeur du Village.
The owners came up with the concept for this hotel 10 years before it was officially built. It embodies their philosophy of authenticity and expresses their vision of the art of living and welcoming. Standing in antithesis to ostentatious luxury, it is cut from the same cloth as the people and the earth of this village. Here, discretion is a diamond. Here, the meaning of time recovers its role as the essential element of true luxury. Time…that of the artisans, designers, and decorators who have given themselves utterly to it to craft this exceptional place. Time…that of the hotel’s personnel who will give the best of themselves to offer you at once intimacy and space, service and discretion.
In each of the 50 suites, you will discover an atmosphere of unique quality, a result of its choice of natural materials and mixture of tonalities conveying a timeless elegance. A refuge that encourages relaxation! The surface areas of the rooms range from 32 m² all the way to 80 m² for the larger suites. The bathroom is very well equipped and designed to promote well-being. Do you prefer emotional showers in a rain of cascades or a sensory bath with effervescent bubbles? Each suite features two bathrooms. In one, you will find a balneotherapy bathtub; in the other, a multi-jet shower. All this in a mineral jewelry box with a refined décor: a floor of ash-gray ceramic, walls of slate sandstone, and basins in rounded granite.
The environment: dry stones and larch wood bring this majestic chalet into perfect harmony with its environment. You will encounter other materials over the course of your stay. A silent dialogue ensues, in this cameo of autumn tones, between the natural hues of a solid oak and the elegance of ostrich leather, the sheen of a wall in rusty metal and the shimmering velvet along a couch. The gleam of semi-precious stones reveals itself in a cocoon of raw stone, in echo to the flamboyance of the fire flickering away in the mineral jewelry box of the central fireplace.
The restaurant: signed under Christophe Pacheco, Meilleur Ouvrier since 2011 and chef of the gourmet restaurant Cinq. His cuisine shells out the charms of the local terroir and recovered tradition, in a delectable score that harmonizes freshness, sensitivity, creativity, and generosity.
The Spa: the Cristal 5 Mondes Spa is a site dedicated to well-being and profound sensory experiences. A place devoted to pleasure, to leisure, to the time that we allow to care after our bodies, our minds, and ourselves. Here you will find a hammam, a sauna, a pool, and a massage room.
Events: located at the heart of the hotel on the ground floor, where a large room of 200 m² and several committee rooms ranging from 30 m2 to 80 m2 await to welcome seminars, press conferences, and small conventions.
There are hundreds of possibilities for events in both the winter and the summer in this resort town and its surroundings. There exists in La Clusaz a true alchemy between the seasons and the elements that opens an infinite expanse of possibilities for sensations…
A few ideas for activities: an aerial flight over Mont Blanc, bivvies in igloos, skiing, hiking trips, snowshoeing, mountain biking, and more. The mountain of Aravis opens its doors to a territory enclosed between lakes and mountains, between the sky and the earth, to allow you to discover the myriad facets of life in the open air.
